Find every trial chamber in your seed

Find the trial chambers in your world. Enter your seed and the map marks each one, so you can farm trial keys without hunting blindly. Click any marker for its exact chunk and a teleport command you can paste straight into chat.

Trial chambers start between about Y=-40 and Y=-20, though most of their rooms sit higher, between Y=-20 and Y=0. They generate in most overworld biomes on a 34 chunk grid. Because they are not biome-restricted the way villages are, they are common almost everywhere.

Why go to a trial chamber

They are the source of the mace (from a heavy core in an ominous vault), plus trial keys, and a renewable supply of loot from the spawners. Added in 1.21, they are the best structured combat content in the game.

Frequently asked questions

How do I find a trial chamber in Minecraft?

Enter your world seed and every trial chamber in range is marked on the map. Click a marker to see its chunk and copy a /tp command straight to it. Turn the biome layer on to see the terrain around it before you set off.

Where do trial chambers generate?

Trial chambers start between about Y=-40 and Y=-20, though most of their rooms sit higher, between Y=-20 and Y=0. They generate in most overworld biomes on a 34 chunk grid. Because they are not biome-restricted the way villages are, they are common almost everywhere.

What is inside a trial chamber?

They are the source of the mace (from a heavy core in an ominous vault), plus trial keys, and a renewable supply of loot from the spawners. Added in 1.21, they are the best structured combat content in the game.

How do I get the mace?

You need a heavy core, which only drops from ominous vaults inside trial chambers. Trigger an ominous trial with a bad omen effect, clear it, and use an ominous trial key on the vault.

How deep are trial chambers?

The starting room is around Y=-40 to Y=-20, but the chamber sprawls upward from there and most rooms sit between Y=-20 and Y=0. Dig down from the marker and you will run into a corridor on the way.

Does this work for Minecraft Bedrock Edition?

Yes. Use the Java / Bedrock toggle above the map. Be aware the two editions are not interchangeable: since 1.18 they share terrain and biome generation, so the landscape for a given seed looks nearly the same, but structures like villages and strongholds use edition-specific placement and end up in different places. Bedrock also uses 32-bit seeds where Java uses 64-bit.

Is my seed sent to a server?

No. The whole map is computed in your browser with JavaScript. Your seed never leaves your device, there is no account, and no download is necessary.

Can I share a link to what I am looking at?

Yes. The address bar updates as you pan and zoom, so you can copy the URL at any time, or press Copy link. Anyone opening it lands on the same seed at the same position and zoom.

What do the grid lines mean?

The fine grid is chunks (16x16 blocks), which is the unit slime chunks and mob spawning work in. The heavier grid is regions (512x512 blocks, or 32x32 chunks), which is the unit Minecraft uses when deciding where to place structures. Brighter lines through the middle mark the world origin at X=0, Z=0.
