Minecraft Seed Map

Paste a Minecraft seed and explore its biomes on a live, pannable map. Runs entirely in your browser, and every view has a shareable link.

Move the cursor over the map

Explore any Minecraft seed

Type in a seed and the map draws it immediately. Drag to pan, scroll to zoom, and the address bar keeps up so you can bookmark or share exactly what you are looking at. Nothing uploads and nothing installs.

The chunk grid (16 blocks) and region grid (512 blocks) are drawn on top so you can line builds up with the boundaries the game actually cares about, and the world origin is marked so you always know which way is which.

A seed search, viewer and chunk finder in one

However you think of it, it is the same job: a Minecraft seed search to see what a world holds before you commit to it, a seed viewer for a world you already play, a seed checker to confirm a seed you were given is the one you wanted, and a chunk finder when you need the exact 16-block boundaries for a farm or a build. All of it runs from the one seed box above.

Everything on the map is computed from the seed the same way the game computes it, so what you see here is what generates in your world - not an estimate and not a database of worlds somebody else visited.

Java and Bedrock seeds are not interchangeable

Since Minecraft 1.18 both editions share the same terrain and biome generation, so a given seed produces a very similar landscape in each. Structures are the catch: villages, temples, strongholds and portals use edition-specific placement rules, so a seed with a village at spawn in Java may have nothing there in Bedrock. Use the edition toggle to match the version you actually play.

Frequently asked questions

How do I use the Minecraft seed map?

Paste your world seed into the box and press Go. Drag the map to pan, scroll to zoom, and use the layer checkboxes to choose what is drawn. Click anywhere to pin a chunk and read its exact coordinates.

How do I find my world seed?

In Java Edition, run /seed in chat. In Bedrock, open Settings, then Game and the seed appears at the top of the world options.

Can I type a word instead of a number?

Yes, exactly like the game. Minecraft converts a non-numeric seed to a number using Java’s string hash, and this map does the same conversion, so typing glacier here gives you the same world it gives you in game.

Does this work for Minecraft Bedrock Edition?

Yes. Use the Java / Bedrock toggle above the map. Be aware the two editions are not interchangeable: since 1.18 they share terrain and biome generation, so the landscape for a given seed looks nearly the same, but structures like villages and strongholds use edition-specific placement and end up in different places. Bedrock also uses 32-bit seeds where Java uses 64-bit.

Is my seed sent to a server?

No. The whole map is computed in your browser with JavaScript. Your seed never leaves your device, there is no account, and no download is necessary.

Can I share a link to what I am looking at?

Yes. The address bar updates as you pan and zoom, so you can copy the URL at any time, or press Copy link. Anyone opening it lands on the same seed at the same position and zoom.

What do the grid lines mean?

The fine grid is chunks (16x16 blocks), which is the unit slime chunks and mob spawning work in. The heavier grid is regions (512x512 blocks, or 32x32 chunks), which is the unit Minecraft uses when deciding where to place structures. Brighter lines through the middle mark the world origin at X=0, Z=0.
