Find every buried treasure in your seed

Find the buried treasure in your world without a map. Enter your seed and every chest is marked, heart of the sea included. Click any marker for its exact chunk and a teleport command you can paste straight into chat.

Buried treasure generates on beaches and in shallow ocean floors, one per region, always at the centre of its chunk. That is why the markers line up so regularly compared to other structures.

Why go to a buried treasure

Each chest contains a heart of the sea, the item you need for a conduit, plus iron, gold, emeralds and sometimes diamonds. Normally you need an explorer map from a shipwreck to find one.

Frequently asked questions

How do I find a buried treasure in Minecraft?

Enter your world seed and every buried treasure in range is marked on the map. Click a marker to see its chunk and copy a /tp command straight to it. Turn the biome layer on to see the terrain around it before you set off.

Where do buried treasures generate?

Buried treasure generates on beaches and in shallow ocean floors, one per region, always at the centre of its chunk. That is why the markers line up so regularly compared to other structures.

What is inside a buried treasure?

Each chest contains a heart of the sea, the item you need for a conduit, plus iron, gold, emeralds and sometimes diamonds. Normally you need an explorer map from a shipwreck to find one.

Do I still need a treasure map?

Not if you have your seed. Explorer maps from shipwrecks and ocean ruins point at the same chests this map already knows about. Dig at the marker, usually a few blocks under the sand.

Does this work for Minecraft Bedrock Edition?

Yes. Use the Java / Bedrock toggle above the map. Be aware the two editions are not interchangeable: since 1.18 they share terrain and biome generation, so the landscape for a given seed looks nearly the same, but structures like villages and strongholds use edition-specific placement and end up in different places. Bedrock also uses 32-bit seeds where Java uses 64-bit.

Is my seed sent to a server?

No. The whole map is computed in your browser with JavaScript. Your seed never leaves your device, there is no account, and no download is necessary.

Can I share a link to what I am looking at?

Yes. The address bar updates as you pan and zoom, so you can copy the URL at any time, or press Copy link. Anyone opening it lands on the same seed at the same position and zoom.

What do the grid lines mean?

The fine grid is chunks (16x16 blocks), which is the unit slime chunks and mob spawning work in. The heavier grid is regions (512x512 blocks, or 32x32 chunks), which is the unit Minecraft uses when deciding where to place structures. Brighter lines through the middle mark the world origin at X=0, Z=0.
