How to play Minecraft Wordle
The answer is the name of a Minecraft item, block or mob. It has 4 to 8 letters, and the tiles show you how long it is. Type a guess with your keyboard or the keys under the board and press Enter.
Every guess has to be a real Minecraft name of the same length. You get 6 tries.
What the colours mean
- Green: the letter is in the word and in the right place.
- Yellow: the letter is in the word but somewhere else.
- Grey: the letter is not in the word.
The keyboard shows the colour of every letter you have tried. After 3 guesses you can ask whether the answer is a mob or an item.
Hard mode makes you reuse every green and yellow letter you have found. Turn it on before your first guess.
Recipe mode: a Minecraftle-style crafting puzzle
Minecraftle is a fan game where you guess a secret crafting recipe instead of a word. Recipe mode here plays the same idea with Craftapedia's own recipe data.
Pick an ingredient from the inventory, then tap a slot in the 3x3 crafting grid to place it. Press Craft when the grid makes something. A guess only counts if it crafts a real item.
Each slot then turns green, yellow or grey. Green means the right ingredient in the right slot. Yellow means the ingredient is in the recipe but in another slot. You have 10 tries, and after 5 you can reveal which item you are trying to make.
The shape can sit anywhere in the grid, the same as in the game. Two planks stacked in the left column make sticks, and so do two planks stacked in the right column.
Mob mode: guess the Minecraft mob
Type any of the 82 mobs to guess. A row appears with its type, health, height and width. The last two columns say whether you can breed it and whether you can tame it.
Green cells match the secret mob. For numbers, an arrow points up when the answer is higher and down when it is lower. There is no guess limit. Your score is how few guesses you need.
If you searched for Mobdle or Minecraftdle, this is the mode to play. The stats come from the Bedrock Edition game files, the same numbers shown on each mob page.
Tips for solving
- Start the word puzzle with a common Minecraft name full of vowels, such as STONE or CREEPER, to place letters fast.
- Tick Show matching names when you are stuck. It lists the names that still fit. Your share text will say you used it.
- In Recipe mode, a first guess with planks and sticks rules out a large group of tools and wooden items in one go.
- In Mob mode, guess a mid-sized mob first. The height and health arrows cut the list in half.
Daily puzzles, unlimited play and the archive
Everyone gets the same word, recipe and mob each day, and they change at midnight in your time zone. Your result, streak and guess spread save in your browser.
Unlimited gives you a random puzzle and does not touch your stats. In the word mode you can also pick the word length. The row of numbers under the mode tabs opens the past 7 daily puzzles as practice.
Share result copies a grid of coloured squares that does not give the answer away, ready to paste into a chat.
